Description

Recreate the beauty and ecological value of a traditional hay meadow with our Heritage Hay Meadow Grass Seed Mixture. This blend has been carefully curated to establish a dense, diverse, and authentic grassland sward. Whether you are looking to restore a heritage landscape or increase the biodiversity of your holding, this mixture provides the perfect foundation.

Why Choose Our Heritage Hay Meadow Mix?

This mixture is specifically balanced to support traditional hay-making practices while remaining practical for the modern land manager.

  • Traditional Biodiversity: Designed to support a wide range of meadow grasses, providing a habitat-rich environment that encourages local flora and fauna.

  • Safe for Livestock: All components are 100% safe for grazing animals, making this a versatile choice for both conservation projects and productive pasture.

  • High-Quality Forage: Produces a high-quality hay crop that is safe and nutritious for feeding your stock throughout the winter.

  • Customisable: Available as a grass-only mixture or with a native wildflower addition for those looking to maximise pollinator impact and visual appeal.

Management & Establishment

To maintain the health and longevity of your meadow, traditional management is recommended:

  • Late-Season Cutting: This mixture is designed to be cut late in the season. This crucial step allows the grasses to go to seed and shed, ensuring the meadow propagates itself naturally for years to come.

  • Sustainable Practices: By following traditional cutting cycles, you support the natural rhythm of the meadow, keeping the sward diverse and resilient.

Looking to maximise your meadow's impact for pollinators? View our Heritage Hay Meadow mixture with wildflower additions here.
