Our Story – 45 Years of Specialising in Seed

South West Seeds Ltd is the mark of quality, based on years of industry experience

1980

South West Seeds Ltd commenced trading in 1980. Set up by Richard Jones as a mobile seed processing company dedicating itself to a very high quality of service aiming to give the client the best possible end product.

Based in North Cornwall, South West Seeds quickly established itself as one of the best seed processing companies in the South West of England. With a large client base the company grew at a steady pace, always building on its fantastic reputation for service and reliability.

Stephen Pearce joined the company at 20 years of age after leaving Bicton Agricultural College, with the intention of staying in the company for one summer. In 2024, we were delighted to welcome new family members into the South West Seeds business. William Jones has officially joined the team and will be learning the ropes from Stephen Kettle as he transitions into the role of Seed Sales Manager. After five years working as a chase boat Captain aboard super yachts, William has traded the high seas for home soil, and brings a fresh yet familiar perspective to the company.

Amy Jones has also come aboard, leading our marketing efforts as we expand our reach and modernise our brand. With a degree in Marketing and also a background in the superyacht industry, Amy brings creativity, professionalism, and new energy to South West Seeds.

Our website now features helpful growing guides, and our brochures have been updated and are available to view online .

While Richard Jones continues as Managing Director, he now enjoys more time sailing along the Cornish coast- though he remains closely connected to the business he built.
