F75 Manual Platemeter

How does it work?

The plate sits on top of the grass sward and the shaft falls to the ground level measuring the height of the sward as well as taking the density into account.

• The F75 platemeter has two mechanical components which will take readings of sward height and sward density throughout the field.
• These figures should then be recorded in a notebook at the beginning and end of each field.
• Simple formulas can then be used to calculate the average height and the average Kg DM/ha.
• Using an Excel spreadsheet can be useful to record your findings.
